After some gentle persuasion, I reluctantly took my first steps into competition and, last month, entered this image into the RASPS photography competition.
With lots of professional and semi-pro photographers entering, the standard of images was very high so I didn't expect to stand much of a chance but just valued the new experience.
The current COVID-19 lockdown meant that the images were judged remotely with the public voting online for their favourite and I couldn't believe how the quickly the votes were escalating!
Harry, the subject of my photo, is a rescue dog who has helped me enormously with my recovery so I was delighted when it was announced that we had won the competition.
I like to think that Harry and I have helped each other on our independent journeys and, hopefully, this will be the first of my awards...if I can be persuaded to enter any more!
